Captain Kevin Herrick
The Criminal Investigation Division of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office is comprised of the Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) and the Narcotics Unit. Captain Kevin Herrick oversees both Units. The CIU is comprised of one senior Investigator and eleven investigators. Their duties encompass the investigation of a variety of crimes, including homicides, burglaries, robberies, sex crimes, suspicious deaths, and other significant incidents. These investigators undergo specialized training in areas such as crisis negotiation, interview and interrogation techniques, investigation of sex crimes, crime scene photography, and evidence collection. Additionally, the Division houses an active Narcotics Unit that focuses on combating illegal drug activity within Saratoga County. Investigators operate on a seven-day-a-week basis and are on-call 24 hours a day.
